About

Hola, Hello, Bonjour! I’m Javier

I use creativity and strategy to help ideas and projects shine with purpose and personality.

Over the years, I’ve found that creativity is more than just colours, or weird little ideas — it’s a powerful tool for change. Think of me as a creativist — someone who connects a few unusual dots to conceptualise ideas and strategies with a touch of joy, plus a bit of pedagogical.

I wear a few hats: graphic designer, illustrator, communication strategist, and workshop facilitator. I’m pretty good at understanding what you need, conceptualising your ideas and values, and then weaving all that into visuals and stories that actually feel like you.

A little bit of story

I grew up in a modest home led by a powerhouse single mom — a hardworking nurse — and ever since I was a kid, I loved playing with colourful LEGOs, watching 90’s cartoons, and drawing whatever came to mind.

Growing up, I saw firsthand the challenges life throws at people — especially women — and that shaped me deeply. Those experiences made me care about things like fairness, equality, and women’s rights. That’s why I decided to use my skills, competencies and experience to contribute to causes I care about.

What do I offer?

I offer purposeful and practical creative services that help you share your message with the world. I work with purpose-driven people — from NGOs and institutions to small businesses and entrepreneurs.

If you know what you like but aren’t quite sure what you need, no worries. Thanks to my degree in communication and experience working across three continents, I bring a holistic approach to every project. That means I have practical skills and the nerdy theory bits to explore less obvious routes and find holistic solutions for you.

Oh, and I make sure every project ticks all the boxes when it comes to funded initiatives like Erasmus+ projects.

I bring a holistic approach
to every project.

Let’s talk about joy!

In a world growing more monochromatic and driven by messages of fear and anger, choosing to speak with joy — and in full colour — is my quiet act of resistance. I believe joy is a powerful, transformative energy that helps us approach important social issues with openness, warmth, and humanity.

It’s not about ignoring the hard stuff or pretending everything’s fine— it’s about offering an alternative way to engage in dialogue. One that feels more inviting, more accessible, and just a little bit brighter.

Joyful, powerful & inclusive
— that’s my motto.

What I bring to the table

Every project is a collaboration

Relationships and community are at the heart of what I do. Whether I join your comms team  or work alongside you. I listen closely to your needs and bring a strong sense of teamwork (plus a good dose of humour) to help us reach those shared goals together.

I don’t for people, I work with people. I’m like the best group project partner you’ll ever have!

I’m a global team player

With experience across 15+ countries, I’ve learned to adapt, connect, and collaborate with people from all kinds of cultural backgrounds and working styles.

I bring strong intercultural skills to the table: navigating conflict, fostering dialogue, adapting with cultural sensitivity — I connect with respect and openness to all backgrounds.

I eat croissants for breakfast and tacos for lunch

Coming from Latin America and having spent years active in Belgium and France, I bring a unique perspective to problem-solving and ideas. This blend of cultural insights and practical knowledge allows me to introduce innovative solutions. I’ve learned how to add just the right amount of spice—metaphorically and literally—to every project, including the tacos I can cook for you!

I’m a ceativist

My journey through global networks and European institutions has equipped me with hands-on experience in speaking up about complex social issues — from climate justice to inequalities to mental health and youth participation. I’ve learned how to adapt these messages to different audiences, choosing the right tone, format and a thoughtful mix of visual storytelling tools.
